The duo, who are only 15, picked up silver after registering 9.30 points with Iran taking gold with 9.40 and Yemen bronze with 9.25.
"Md Sufi and Mohammad Adi have successfully demonstrated their true potential in this event and they managed to finish with a strong performance," said national wushu coach Li Hui in yesterday's daily report by the secretariat.
"The Iranian team that finished with the gold are no strangers to the duilian event and they have a reputation on the world stage being the five-time world champions at the World Championships.
"Iran are far more experienced, but Md Sufi and Adi have their own unique advantage of being able to compete with senior athletes without feeling nervous.
"Both of them (also) didn't have to worry about stamina because the event took only one minute to complete," added Li.
The siblings both took part in individual events over the past four days but were unable to seal a medal at the Jakabaring Gymnastics Hall.
Md Sufi missed out on what could have been the first podium finish for Brunei by 0.02 points when he came fourth in his first event, the nanquan (southern fist), on Saturday.
Md Sufi then went on to score 9.24 points during Sundays nandao (southern broad sword) and 9.61 points in the nangun (southern staff) to finish in fifth place with a total score of 18.85 points.
Weapons events such as nandao and nangun are only awarded medals after the two categories points are combined.
Adi ended fourth in the weapons category after scoring 9.48 points in the daoshu (sword) on Saturday and 9.18 points in the gunshu (long staff) on Monday with a total of 18.66 points.
Adi also took part in the changquan (long fist) where he finished in fourth after recording 9.36 on Sunday.
Lee Yingshi, Brunei's third wushu representative, finished at the bottom of the women's changquan (long fist) after recording 9.47 on Sunday.
Brunei's taekwondo duo of Mohamad Fathullah Mohamad Taib and Nurulain Md Ja'afar were knocked out of the competition in Monday's first round.
Turkey's Bildik Umuk disappointed two-time Southeast Asian (SEA) Games representative Mohamad Fathullah 14-1 in the first round of the men's 73kg and below knock out stage while Nurulain fell to Bangladesh's Shraboni Biswas 5-2 in the women's 73kg and below category at the Sriwijaya Promotion Center.
