Jordan Medal Hunt Continues from Wushu

Jordan’s woo shu team has launched its bid for medals at the 3rd Islamic Games, but is still looking for the team’s first success.

Despite some impressive performances once again, only Adham Azzam managed a victory and will meet a Turkmenistan athlete in the quarter finals. Both Fouad Hussein Alshami and Abdallah Abu Irshaid lost their first matches.

Still to come, Mohammad Khalifah will meet a Malaysian in the 58kg, Shahid Al Tarman will meet an Egyptian and Moutasembellah Abu Zaid will meet a Palestinian in the 45kg.

On the second day of the woo shu competition, Juliana Al Sadeq will face an Indonesian athlete while Anas Al Adarbeh will meet the winner of Saudi Arabia and Turkey in the 74kg.

Meanwhile, taekwondo technical manager Ammar Al Sbaihi said the competition will be very strong with the participation of the sport’s elite athletes, but he believes Jordan can be successful.
