345 Indonesia Athletes Have Been Released

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, Roy Suryo, with the Chairman of Committee Olympic Indonesia (KOI), Rita Subowo, were releasing 345 Indonesia contingent who will compete in the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) III in Palembang, 22 September – 1 October 2013.

Arrived at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the representatives from 13 sports that compete in the ISG were attending in the office of KOI, Senayan, Tuesday (17/9). In that occasion, The Ministry of Youth and Sports, KOI, and others, perfomed the ceremony of realising the Indonesia contigent before they finally headed to Palembang to participate on the competition.

After the ceremony, Roy Suryo expressed his gratitude of support from the various parties including athletes, coaches and the board assosiation who already support the event.

“Even though it had less smooth in the beginning, but now we have a voice - one voice, and now we have to think how to invent an achievement in the ISG”, he said.

On that occasion Roy also said the target is not too pompous.

“For this competition, our target is not too pompous. Reflected from the first ISG that Indonesia ranked only on 18 from 44 countries. Because now we are the host of this event, so the government have an expectation that we could reach on the top 10 of the rank from any sports. I think we have chance on football”, he added. (Adr)
