Fandi Eko as Indonesia Victory on ISG 2013

In the season premiere of Islamic Solidarity Games 2013, Indonesia football national team U-23 able to defeated Morocco at Gelora Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang, Thursday (19/9) by a slightly score 1-0.
 
But before securing of the victory, actually Indonesia was always pressed by Morocco. On the first half, Rahmad Darmawan’s squad had problem to handled the aggresiveness of Morocco’s team.

Indonesia was only relying on the counter-attact to create opportunities. But their effort was failed because Morocco’s back line playing disciplined on the match.

On the second half, Morocco still continued its dominance. The attact especialy came from the incessant side that they made to struck-dumb the host stronghold. But fortunately, Indonesia performed well although despite under pressure. Kurnia Mega, the goalkeeper, able to performed brilliant in guarding his post.

Through rapid cunter-attact, Indonesia finally could break down Morocco’s post in 60 minutes. Prefixed of Diego Michels’s movement through the right side of Moroccos’s defense, the ball immediately passed to front of the goal. Fandi Eko Utomo who was free-standing directly beaten the ball. Morocco’s goalkeeper effort, Benachour Badred curbed the ball was ended in vain. The ball hit his face and thus leads to the left side of the goal.

In 70 minutes Indonesia had to played with ten players. It caused by Diego Michels was expelled referee after receiving a red card. With ten players, Indonesia increasingly vociferously dismantled by Morocco.

But fortunately, all Morocco’s opportunities led to failure. With this victory, “Garuda Muda” team succeed be on the top of group B. On the next match, Rahmad Darmawan’s squad scheduled for dealing with Palestinians on 24 September. (Adr)
