Qatar’s Musaab Abdulrahman Balla won the silver medal of 800m event at the prestigious 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) 2013 on Thursday.
Musaab Abdulrahman Balla clocked a time of 01:44:19 minutes to occupy the second place behind Abdulaziz Ladan of Saudi Arabia while Elham Tanwi of Turkey finished third.
In Beach Volleyball, Qatar team (A) and Qatar team (B) qualified to the quarterfinals on Thursday.
On the other hand, Qatar’s Ibrahim Al Mohannadi suffered a 2-5 defeat against a player from Malaysia while Ali Al Yazidi lost to a player from Uzbekistan in Men’s Archery
The prestigious games brought together some 1,759 athletes and 624 officials from 38 nations, who are competing in 13 sports including Athletics, Aquatic-Swimming, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Karate, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball Indoor, Volleyball Beach, Weightlifting, and Wushu.
The state of Qatar is participating in six sports including athletics, Archery, Basketball, Volleyball, Karate and Taekwondo.
